Department Affairs Faculty Evaluation Committee Matters
- Matters related to faculty quota applications, recruitment, joint appointments, part-time appointments, and onboarding.
- Faculty promotion, evaluation, sabbatical research, and contract renewal affairs.
Curriculum Affairs
- Department Curriculum Committee.
- Assistance with course-related affairs (internship courses, laboratory internship, Life Science practice courses, special topics in Life Science research, thesis, journal discussion, and seminar courses), as well as assisting faculty with teaching platforms and grade submission.
- Course scheduling for General Biology (excluding laboratory) offered by the department and commissioned courses from other departments each semester.
- Student course selection, summer courses, English proficiency certification, and related consultation services.
- Course offering, scheduling, adjustments, and curriculum map maintenance.
- Applications for minors, double majors, transfer programs, credit review; advanced placement credit recognition for high school students.
- Credit transfer review and graduation credit audit for undergraduate students.
- Biology-related affairs of the Center for Teacher Education (including course credit review).
- Faculty minimum teaching hour calculation, teaching load (credit hour) verification, and selection of outstanding teaching faculty.
- Collection and archiving of departmental data (including photos and records).
- EMI (English-Medium Instruction) course-related affairs.
Admissions Affairs
- Reporting of admission quotas and maintenance of basic data.
- Administration of university admissions (transfer examinations, athletic performance admission, “Stars Program” recommendation, application-based admission, exam-based placement, special talent admission, etc.) and handbook revisions.
- Assistance with revisions and implementation of key admissions processes coordinated by the university Admissions Professional Office.
Scholarship Affairs
- Application review and administration of undergraduate scholarships and grants (including Yang Feng-Cheng, Kuo Shih-Te, Professor Mai Ai-Tang scholarships, Higher Education Sprout Project scholarships, and other internal/external scholarships).
Environmental Safety and Health (EHS)
- Promotion of laboratory safety and hygiene and arrangement of EHS training courses.
- Registration and disposal of hazardous waste, chemical waste, and toxic substances from teaching laboratories.
- Management of teaching laboratories and assistance with EHS-related matters.
- Contact window for infectious disease prevention and related assistance.
- Dengue fever prevention contact window, related tasks, and system reporting.
- Inspection of the old building greenhouse, department buildings, and surrounding areas.
- Management of cleaning staff, procurement of supplies, and participation in campus cleaning competitions.
- Promotion of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and CNS 45001 certifications and assistance with internal ISO audits.
Others
- Organization of domestic and international academic conferences.
- Assistance with departmental evaluation and accreditation-related tasks.
- Opening classrooms before classes and supporting classroom locking after office hours.
- Other ad hoc tasks assigned by the department chair.
